‘Wordle’ Today #1,133 Hints and Answer for Friday, July 26 Puzzle
Wordle is a fun word game, but it can be challenging for the best of us, so Newsweek has put together some tips to help you solve it.
The popular word game is a daily puzzle that resets at midnight in players’ respective time zones. It was acquired by The New York Times in 2022, and the newspaper realized that people wanted to play the game more often, so it made its archive available.
In May, the New York Times announced it was expanding on the original Wordle game to offer subscribers access to more than 1,000 past puzzles from the official Wordle archive on the web and in the NYT Games app.
“We are thrilled to unlock the official Wordle archive for our subscribers. This expansion is not just about playing past puzzles; it’s about deepening the connection our community has with Wordle and with each other,” Jonathan Knight, head of games at The New York Times, said at the time.
“We believe this will make the daily puzzle even more engaging and provide even more moments of surprise and delight for our subscribers to share with friends and family.”
Playing Wordle is quite simple. Every day, a mystery five-letter word appears on the NYT games website or app, which people must solve. You get at least six attempts to work it out, which you do by typing a word.
A color-coded tile system helps you along the way. Green tiles mean you’ve guessed a correct letter; yellow tiles show a player that letter is in the word but is in the wrong spot; while a gray tile means that letter is not in the word at all.
The answer to Friday’s puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work it out for yourself.
