Woman Tries to Take Trash Out, Meets Unexpected Living Obstacle at the Door
As if taking the garbage out wasn’t demanding enough, a woman called Melissa was met with an extra challenge when she noticed a huge problem at the door while trying to empty her trash containers.
In a viral post shared on TikTok in May, under the username @melissagilbert16, she attempts to take the garbage out when, all of a sudden, one of her biggest fears materialized.
Melissa can be head saying: “OK, so I’m going to take the trash out and look at what I see sticking out of the little door piece. It’s a little snake head and I am scared to death to go near it. I don’t know what kind of snake it is, but I do not like snakes. OK, it’s moving; maybe he’s gonna go back in.
“Oh, he’s sticking his tongue out. He smells me. Ew, I don’t know what to do. Maybe I should shut the door and he’ll go away.”
Amazon associate USAsnakes.com says that over 100 different species of snakes can be found throughout the United States, and about 22 of them are venomous.
“Apart from Alaska, Maine, Rhode Island and Hawaii, every U.S. state has at least one venomous snake species,” the website adds.
It is estimated that over 7,000 to 8,000 people in America get bitten by venomous snakes every year. However, only around five of these accidents result in casualties.
“Most fatal snake bites in the U.S. are delivered by the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake and the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake that are native in the Southern United States,” USAsnakes.com says.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 4 million views and more than 150,500 likes on the platform.
One user, Crystal C, commented: “I’ve had this happen except my husband opened the door and froze and let it come inside and lost sight of it.”
Shari Corson Shoufler posted: “Um that means he’s in your wall… with how many of his siblings????”
Tootsiepie wrote: “Honey, pretend you’re mad at your husband and slam that door with every piece of your soul.”
How it’s done added: “That looks like my ex trying to sneak back in.”
