Why Taylor Swift Is Skipping Travis Kelce’s Family Thanksgiving dinner
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Don’t blame her!
Taylor Swift may skip Thanksgiving dinner with boyfriend Travis Kelce’s family this year, but his mom has a good explanation why.
Donna Kelce appeared on the Thursday, November 14 episode of Today to share her favorite holiday recipe and told Craig Melvin that the 34-year-old singer would probably be missing out on her famous dinner rolls.
“She’s kinda busy right now,” Donna said. “She has her tour to do.”
As for her own plans, Donna, 72, said that she will be watching Travis, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday, November 29 — the day after Thanksgiving — so she doesn’t have a “big dinner” planned.
“I am going to be at a football game,” she explained. “Travis is playing the day after Thanksgiving. You know, football is always the holidays. It’s football’s family.”
The “Tortured Poets Department” singer is set to kick off the final leg of her Eras Tour on Thursday, November 14 in Toronto. The tour concludes on Sunday, December 6 in Vancouver.
Swift does have time off from the tour from Saturday, November 23 until Friday, December 6, so she could possibly make an appearance at the game.
The 14-time Grammy winner has cheered on Travis at all of his home games this season. She most recently attended his game on Sunday, November 10 against the Denver Broncos, where he made a record-breaking touchdown.
The Super Bowl champ and the “Fortnight” singer were first linked together in fall 2023.
