USA bowler raises ball-tampering allegations on Pakistan’s Haris Rauf
PAK vs USA: Haris Rauf had a bad outing in the T20 World Cup match vs hosts, as he returned with figures of 1/37 in his four overs.
USA fast bowler Rusty Theron, who is a former South Africa international, has made the headlines right after the PAK vs USA T20 World Cup match. A match that Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team lost in the super over to the hosts, seems to have come with a bit of controversy.
Rusty Theron, who has 24 wickets in 18 T20Is, made an outrageous claim that Haris Rauf tried to tamper with the ball during the match, with his thumb nail. In a tweet addressed to ICC, he wrote, “Are we just going to pretend Pakistan aren’t scratching the hell out of this freshly changed ball? Reversing the ball that’s just been changed 2 overs ago? You can literally see Harris Rauf running his thumb nail over the ball at the top of his mark.”
While there is no proof for alleged Haris Rauf ball-tampering episode, and Team USA has filed no official complaint, looks like these comments by Rusty Theron might just ignite a new fire in the already controversial T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies.

PAK vs USA, As it Happened
After opting to bowling first, USA were clinical with the ball as they restricted Pakistan to only 159. Only Shadab Khan looked good with the bat and scored 40 from 25, while all the others struggled. Skipper Babar Azam’s innings of 44 from 43 was under the scanner again. On the other hand, during the chase, Monank Patel led the charge and scored 50 from 38 for USA.
Come the super over, batting first USA scored 18, while Saurabh Netravalkar defended the score and restricted the opposition to 13/1 to script a famous win in the T20 World Cup.
