Teen Girl Caught After 3-Month Police Hunt Over Fatal Restaurant Shooting


A teenage girl who was accused of fatally shooting a fast-food restaurant manager in North Texas was arrested on Tuesday after a three-month search, according to local reports.

Adiah Roberson, 17, was wanted on suspicion of killing 33-year-old Daniel Shrewsbury on July 7 at a Sonic Drive-In in the 5500 block of Babcock Road in San Antonio at around 9.30 p.m., according to a police news release obtained by local ABC affiliate KSAT.

Police say Roberson went to the restaurant with two other individuals, local news outlet FOX4 reports. When Shrewsbury arrived at work, he was reportedly told they had been denied service because they were using counterfeit money, and had taken money from another employee.

According to police, Shrewsbury went outside to take a photo of the vehicle license plate, and a man, later identified as 27-year-old Joshua Joseph, threatened to shoot the restaurant manager.

Police say Roberson then exited the vehicle and shot Shrewsbury, per FOX4.

Roberson then reportedly avoided law enforcement for three months until her arrest on Tuesday, when she was arrested on charges of forgery of a government document as well as murder.

According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, an arrest warrant was issued for Roberson on a murder charge on July 16. She was placed on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list, and there was a reward of up to $5,000 was advertised. The department cautioned that the subject should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

Roberson was described as a black woman with piercings on her nose, upper and lower lip, face and eyebrow, with brown hair and eyes. She is reportedly between 5 foot 3 inches and 5 foot 5 inches tall, and 110 pounds in weight.

FOX4 reports that Roberson was arrested in an apartment complex in Dallas, Texas. Police believe she traveled there from San Antonio via Austin.

She was reportedly booked into the Dallas County Jail on a $520,000 bond, and is awaiting transfer to San Antonio.

According to KSAT, Joseph was also charged with murder and arrested in August. Before being taken into Bexar County Jail, he reportedly told the press, “I apologize for the actions of somebody who happened to be with me, and none of that should have happened. That person made a decision they shouldn’t have made.”

Joseph has previously been charged with a felon in possession of a gun, felony marijuana, aggravated robbery, and unlawful carrying of a weapon, the outlet reports

Per the outlet, there was another woman in the vehicle who was considered to be a witness.
