Tears As Owner Boards Long-Distance Bus, Leaves Cat Behind at Station

TikTok viewers are up in arms about a cat who was at a bus station.

The cat’s world turned upside down after her owner boarded a long-distance bus without her. The October 8 TikTok video explaining the cat’s story said that the owner was getting on a bus. The owner did not book a ticket for the cat and wouldn’t be allowed to bring her on board.

But that didn’t stop the owner, who apparently boarded the bus and took off without her, leaving the 8-month-old cat alone at the station. After seeing what had happened, an employee at the station took the cat, London, to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) animal center covering Halifax, Huddersfield and Bradford. The RSPCA hopes a new family will step up for London, promising to never leave her behind like what she experienced last weekend.

London’s post on the RSPCA website said that she hasn’t let the abandonment keep her down. She quickly settled into the cattery and showed the staff that she’s a confident, friendly and chatty cat. She keeps them entertained and laughing.

The RSPCA staff is unsure about her previous home life, but they feel she would be fine to live with children over age 12 because of her temperament. She may also be fine with another neutered cat—as she has been “peeking at her neighbours”—and an older, calm dog who wouldn’t pester her. Those who are interested in adopting her will also need to give her access to the outdoors but away from busy roads or railway lines.

Newsweek reached out to the local RSPCA for additional information.

Heartbroken and stunned, viewers flooded the comment section with hopes that London will find her forever home soon.

“I…didn’t know you would need a ticket for a cat on a bus, but regardless that is an insane thing to do! I hope she finds a wonderful new home soon,” said one person.

Another added: “Awww my heart. How could anyone leave her behind – she looks so bewildered but comfortable. Hope she gets a nicer forever owner.”

A third person wrote: “Can’t believe anyone would do this! She’s so beautiful and deserves to be treated like a little furry queen.”
