National record holder and India’s sole hope at the upcoming Paris Olympics in the men’s steeplechase event, Avinash Sable, finished 6th in the ongoing Paris Diamond League. Ethiopian Abraham Sime managed to stand out in a first place with his extra effort in the last lap, while Amos Serem took second place. Avinash Sable started well and, at one point, looked like a real contender, but he slowed down after a quick start and finished sixth. However, in this process, he was able to break his own national record of 8:11.20, finishing this time in 8:09.91.
