“Shut up Loser”: All Hell Breaks Loose As LeBron James Angers Celtics Fans With Playoff Advice
Following a gruelling series against the Knicks, the Indiana Pacers came into TD Garden tonight to take on the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the first game of the Conference Finals. Going back and forth the entire night, the outcome of the game came down to the final seconds. Coming back from a thirteen-point deficit, the Pacers had a commanding three-point lead in the closing minute of the game. Then, their world turned upside down as Jaylen Brown hit a clutch three-pointer with less than six seconds remaining to tie the game. And the Pacers strategic error led to LeBron James reiterating his old advice on social media leading to an outrage among Celtics fans.
On one of his podcast episodes, LeBron recently explained why he believes it’s the best move to foul the opponent when your team is up by three-points in the closing seconds. And when Rick Carlisle chose to not foul the Celtics when the Pacers were up by 3, it led to Brown tying the game and sending the game to overtime. With that, LeBron tweeted, “And yall still wanna know why I would foul up 3 EVERY SINGLE TIME??” with multiple facepalm emojis.
