Shorunmu Shocked With Abia Warriors’ Second Half ‘Collapse’ In Lafia
Abia Warriors goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu trainer has told Completesports.com that he was ‘shocked’ with his team’s huge 3-0 defeat by Nasarawa United in Wednesday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday seven fixture at Lafia Township Stadium.
The Umuahia club put up a good fight in the first half , but conceded thrice after the break.
“It was difficult to believe we could lose the game”, starts Shorunmu.
“We controlled the game all through the first half. We’re so dominant that the Nasarawa State Governor who was at the Stadium had to leave at half time, apparently fearing we might win the game.
“But surprisingly, immediately the second half started, they scored against us, added a second goal and even the third.

The former Shooting Stars of Ibadan goaltender would however reveal they have put the Lafia ‘nightmare’ behind and are now focusing on Sunday’s big showdown versus Plateau Utd.
“We’ve put that behind. It’s one of those things that happen in a game,” he added.
“We’re focusing on Sundays home match against Plateau Utd. After that we will travel Bendel Insurance and then Heartland.
“It’s a tough fixture but that’s what it will always have to be”.
