Shiba Ibu Who Doesn’t Like Pets, ‘Only Roulette’ Has Internet in Stitches

A dog owner from Canada shared a video of his “dramatic” dog’s reaction to receiving pets, and internet users can’t cope with how cute it is.

The viral TikTok clip, shared on Sunday by @yeedasu, shows the poster petting his Shiba Inu, Kylo, in the head, as the pup howls back at him in protest, trying to tell him to put his human hand away from him.

“[Point of view]: Your slightly dramatic doge gets pet,” reads layover text in the video, and a caption reads: “Shiba does not like pets. Only roulette.” Newsweek reached out to @yeedasu for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.

Vet tech Amber LaRock says in an article published by The Puppy Mag, that, while most dogs love being petted and would do anything to get extra cuddles, others don’t like it at all, especially if they weren’t raised with this type of affection.

Other reasons why your dog won’t let you pet them include being shy, anxious, or too hyper to relax. Additionally, this could be a sign that your pup is sick or in pain.

A Dogster article, medically reviewed by Dr. Amanda Charles, found that, if your pup suddenly doesn’t enjoy cuddle as they once did, you should contact your veterinarian as it could be a sign of something else.

If you got a new dog who doesn’t like cuddles, here is what you can do, according to Dogster. First thing, you should respect their boundaries and take it slow, without forcing the interaction. Built trust instead, and adapt your petting style to your dog. You could also seek help from an animal behaviorist if this doesn’t help.

Ultimately, you may have to accept that some dogs are just different and may not like to be touched, but this doesn’t mean you can’t show them your love in different ways, like keeping them safe and healthy.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 2.1 million views and more than 575,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Skye, commented: “STOPP HES LITERALLY SAYING OWW.”

Nenna posted: “Not to be dramatic but I would die for him.”

Mob wrote: “I’m glad he didn’t overreact.”

Vbonnie added: “I don’t know if bro likes them or not.”
