UNDEFEATED and undisputed champion Seniesa Estrada has decided to hang up the gloves. Known as ‘Super Bad, ’ Estrada exits the sport with a 26-0 (9 KOs) record spread across 13 years. Estrada was last seen defeating 105-pound rival Yokasta Valle for all the belts at minimumweight, and that will seemingly be her final foray into the world of professional boxing.
Estrada was initially promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions before switching over to Top Rank in 2022. Bob Arum tweeted out on her retirement announcement:
Estrada’s career has had ups and downs. She only competed 26 times from 2011 to 2024 and alluded to giving all she could in her somewhat cryptic Instagram retirement post. She wrote that she had no regrets and would not miss a sport that has provided both the worst (written first) and best moments of her life.
Estrada actually dropped down in weight to unify all of the belts at 105, having previously enjoyed world title success up at light-flyweight. In 2019, she scored a win over rival Marlen Esparza. That win aged well and the pair would continue to take pot shots at each other years later.Â
With a shortage of big-money rivals on the horizon and injuries catching up on her 32-year-old frame, the Los Angeles boxer decided to pack it in. Estrada was regularly mentioned alongside the likes of Claressa Shields, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano as an inspiration to up-and-coming fighters. A point referenced in her retirement post.
