Rejoicing fans credit Gautam Gambhir as Kolkata Knight Riders annihilate SRH to reach IPL 2024 Final
Kolkata Knight Riders had last played an IPL Final back in 2021 where they lost to CSK by 27 runs
Fans were left rejoicing as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to make their way into the IPL 2024 Final. The win brought back memories of KKR’s title wins in 2012 and 2014, with many crediting former captain Gautam Gambhir for the team’s resurgence. Gambhir rejoined KKR as their mentor ahead of IPL 2024, and his influence seems to have rekindled the winning spirit within the team.

KKR soar to IPL 2024 Final
Mitchell Starc led a fiery bowling attack for Kolkata Knight Riders, taking 3 wickets in the powerplay to dismantle Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting order. Pat Cummins and the KKR bowlers restricted SRH to a meagre 159 runs despite a fighting half-century from Rahul Tripathi.
In reply, KKR openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine got off to a quick start, scoring 63 runs in the powerplay. After Gurbaz’s dismissal, Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer took over the chase with brilliant fifties. Venkatesh smashed a quickfire 51 off 28 balls, while Shreyas anchored the innings with a captain’s knock of 58 runs off just 24 deliveries. KKR chased down the target with 8 wickets and 4 overs to spare, booking their place in the IPL 2024 final. The fans all over Twitter were jumping in joy as Kolkata made their way into their fourth-ever Indian Premier League final.
