Real Madrid Current Injuries Update: Vinicius Jr, Militao an
Real Madrid are facing a critical period in their season with several key players either injured or doubtful ahead of their La Liga clash against Celta Vigo on Saturday. As Carlo Ancelotti’s side look to close the gap on league leaders Barcelona, injuries to important players like Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, and Thibaut Courtois could impact their performance.
With some players returning to training and others still sidelined, Real Madrid will need to navigate these challenges to maintain momentum in both La Liga and their upcoming Champions League fixtures.
Vinicius Jr
Vinicius Junior is currently a minor doubt for Real Madrid’s upcoming match against Celta Vigo. The Brazilian forward sustained a neck injury in their recent fixture against Villarreal, which led to him missing the Brazil squad during the international break.
His involvement in the match on Saturday against Celta Vigo will depend on his recovery, and he will be assessed closer to the game.
Eder Militao
Eder Militao is also listed as a minor doubt for the Celta Vigo clash due to a thigh injury.
Like Vinicius, Militao did not join Brazil for the international break. However, he has returned to training and is expected to be available for the match, pending further assessments before kick-off.
Dani Carvajal
Right-back Dani Carvajal is out for the foreseeable future after suffering a serious knee injury during Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal.
This injury has ruled him out for the rest of the 2024-25 season, dealing a significant blow to the team’s defence.
David Alaba
David Alaba remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury. After undergoing two operations to treat his ACL injury, it is highly unlikely that the Austrian defender will return before the end of the year. His absence continues to strain Real Madrid’s defensive options.
Thibaut Courtois
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is a major doubt for the match against Celta Vigo due to a hip injury. The Belgian has missed recent games but is progressing in his recovery.
A final decision on his availability will be made closer to the match against Celta this weekend.
Brahim Diaz
Real Madrid will also be without Brahim Diaz, who is still recovering from a hip abductor injury he sustained against Real Sociedad. His return date remains unclear.
With key players like Carvajal, Alaba, and Brahim out, and Vinicius and Militao facing late fitness tests, Real Madrid’s squad depth will be tested in their upcoming fixtures
