RB Leipzig vs Bayern (1-4) Sep 11, 2021 Match Preview and Stats
New Bayern Munich head coach will be hoping to dumbfound his doubters on Saturday, with a convincing win over former club RB Leipzig.
The Saxony side, now coached by Jesse Marsch, will be up against it after winning just one of their first three games of the new Bundesliga season.
However, despite being favourites for the tie Bayern will be without a number of key players and a victory may come down to how best Nagelsmann can make use of the players at his disposal.
For example, in defence the Bayern head coach will have to make due without left-back Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard remains a doubt for Saturday’s clash.
As such, Nagelsmann will likely be forced to play Omar Richards at left-back while Lucas Hernandez still recovers from his knee operation and young prospect Josip Stanisic on the right flank.
Despite their delayed return from international duty, Nagelsmann should be able to rely upon Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich in the middle of the park, but a minor injury to Thomas Muller may mean he has to drop to the bench this weekend. Jamal Musiala will likely take his place.
Similarly, Kingsley Coman picked up an injury on international duty and as such Nagelsmann will likely be forced to play Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry on either wing in support of striker Robet Lewandowski.
