Prince Louis’ Cheekiest Moments As He Turns 6
Prince William and Princess Kate’s youngest son, Prince Louis, is approaching his sixth birthday on April 23, and the grandson of King Charles III has won fans around the world for his amusing appearances at official public events throughout the years.
Louis, along with his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, has seen his public profile increase since the death of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
As the children of the next heir to the throne, George, Charlotte and Louis have been present at some of the most important events in the new reign, including their grandfather’s coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023.
As well as Easter and Christmas church appearances, Louis has also joined his siblings at the Trooping the Colour celebrations in London in June and some select public engagements with his wider family.
Here, Newsweek looks at some of Prince Louis’ cheekiest moments that have been caught on camera during official appearances in recent years.
Flypast Faces
During Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee—celebrations marking her 70th year on the throne in 2022—Louis was photographed alongside his great-grandmother chatting on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. As planes flew overhead during the special jubilee Trooping the Colour, Louis delighted fans with his unreserved reaction to the roar of the engines.
Shhh…
The little prince was also present at the Platinum Jubilee pageant which was held outside Buckingham Palace to honor the queen. Louis was photographed during the lengthy event restlessly covering his mother’s mouth with his hand in a moment that prompted parenting discussions online. The cheeky prince’s reactions featured in much of the jubilee press coverage.
Coronation Fatigue
Louis was among the youngest guests at Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation on May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey. The prince sat between his parents and Charlotte for the ceremony, being spotted at intervals yawning during one of the lengthy liturgical moments.
Sharp Shooter
Wrapping up the weekend of coronation celebrations, the Wales family took part in a community event with a scout troop near Windsor Castle. As part of the day’s events, which included helping to refurbish the troop’s facilities, Louis, George and Charlotte tried their hands at sports and s’mores making. Louis was photographed perfecting his archery skills.
Carriage Capers
During Charles’ first Trooping the Colour celebrations as monarch, Louis became the star of the carriage procession from Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall to Buckingham Palace, being spotted lightheartedly pinching his nose to avoid an unidentified smell.
Typical Little Brother
A insight into the Wales children’s typical sibling relationship was displayed at Kate’s annual Christmas Carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December, which Louis attended for the first time in 2023.
After the event, the prince was spotted blowing out his sister Charlotte’s candle which had been lit for special moments during the service.
