For an athlete, it is important to be on their toes during a high-octane contest. However, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan survived a lapse in concentration due to a Spidercam hovering around the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, causing difficulty in taking a catch on Tuesday

Winning the toss and electing to field first paid rich dividends for Pakistan captain Babar Azam as Mohamad Amir and Shaheen Afridi contributed to Canada’s score of 30/2 inside the powerplay. The old-ball bowlers backed the start with outstanding bowling, keeping the opposition at bay from the probable par total for the majority of the contest. Despite everything going well for the Men in Green, wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan was seen vividly unhappy by technical gadgets intervening in his path to complete a catch.

The fifth ball of the 17th over saw Amir dish an off-cutter across the right-hander away from the stumps. The Canada captain Saad Bin Zafar was early into a pull stroke on the good length delivery and incurred a top-edge behind the keeper’s right. Rizwan tried to judge the ball in the air and peddled back to complete the catch. Although he managed to grasp the ball with a long sprint towards the square of the wicket and assist in Amir’s wicket, the 32-year-old was seen disturbed by something in the sky. He gestured towards the Spidercam coming in his way to catch the ball and soon after, took a shy at the flying gadget, sending the Twitterverse abuzz.
