Osasuna vs Barcelona (2-2) Dec 12, 2021 Match Preview and Stats
Barcelona manager Xavi will be desperate to get the club back to winning ways this weekend when they travel to Osasuna in La Liga.
The Catalan giants were once again humbled by Bayern Munich and then subsequently knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages. A relatively new low for Barcelona.
As such, their young manager will be keen to prove there’s still life left in this tired and battered squad and in Osasuna they may have an ideal opponent to vent their frustration. However, Xavi will have to overcome a number of injuries to do just that.
In defence, the Spanish manager will once again call on Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to play in goals, behind a back four of Oscar Mingueza, Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo and then Sergino Dest at right back.
Fortunately for Barca, they will have strength in the middle of the pitch, where a midfield trio of Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets and Gavi should be able to wrestle control of the game in their team’s favour.
Up front Xavi will have to make a call on Ousmane Dembele’s fitness, but it seems unlikely that the club can afford to rest the French star. He’ll surely keep his place in attack, alongside Memphis Depay and Abde Ezzalzouli.
