Omorodion Linked With Move To Napoli, Roma
Roma have reportedly made Spanish-born Atletico Madrid Nigerian Striker, Samuel Omorodion, their top target to replace Romelu Lukaku.
With Lukaku set to return to Chelsea, Roma have turned to the young Atletico Madrid striker as Lukaku’s potential successor.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Omorodion is now in pole position to land a move to the Italian capital.
Di Marzio reported that Roma launched talks with Omorodion’s entourage in recent days.
The 20-year-old has just concluded his loan at Alaves with nine goals and is now back in Madrid, waiting to find out what his parent club will decide to do with him.
The Giallorossi management insist on the Spanish striker because he is young and in line with the technical project.
Omorodion’s estimated cost is around €40 million, says Di Marzio.
Aside Roma, it is believed former Serie A champions Napoli are also interested in the striker.
Omorodion is eligible to represent either Nigeria or Spain internationally.
In April 2023, Omorodion received his first call-up to the Spain U-19 national team. In July of the same year, he took part in the 2023 UEFA European U-19 Championship in Malta, where the Spanish side lost to eventual champions Italy in the semi-finals.
