Odegbami Congratulates Osimhen for Matching His Super Eagles Goal Record
Super Eagles legend Segun Odegbami has praised Victor Osimhen for equalling his record of 23 goals for Nigeria.
Osimhen reached this milestone during Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Benin Republic on Thursday night. The Galatasaray forward scored the equalizer with a header just eight minutes before full-time.
Speaking on Eagle7fm, Odegbami said, “It’s a good thing that he has equalled my record. This shows we have players who can score goals for the national team.”
Osimhen, 25, now shares the record with Odegbami as Nigeria’s joint second-highest scorer. He will have the chance to break the record when the Super Eagles play Rwanda in Uyo on Monday.
Rashidi Yekini remains Nigeria’s all-time top scorer with 37 goals.
