Northampton charity ‘blown away’ after 100 baby baskets collected
A baby charity said it was “blown away” by a woman’s efforts to collect 100 Moses baskets for needy families.
Dora Shergold drove around the country to source the baskets for Baby Basics Northampton.
She also acquired baby clothes and baby baths along the way.
“I loved finding, buying and driving all over to collect the Moses Baskets,” she said.
Ms Shergold realised there was a desperate need for the baskets, so she set herself the challenge of finding 100 of them.
She said: “I had no idea of how many lovely and generous people I would meet on my journey, from Mill Hill in London to Uttoxeter north of Birmingham.”
She added she “will remember all the wonderful people I have met through my connection with the charity”.
Sabrina Oakey, the co-founder of Baby Basics Northampton, said: “She is an amazing lady and we have been so grateful for her inspiring support.”
