Nigeria’s U16 Female Basketball Team Triumphs at DAKAR EN JAUX 2024 Festival
The Nigerian U16 female basketball 3v3 team has secured a gold medal at the DAKAR EN JAUX 2024 Festival, further solidifying their status on the continental stage.
Following a previous silver medal performance at the All Africa Games in Accra, Ghana, the team showcased their talent by defeating the host nation, Senegal, with a score of 11-8 in a thrilling final match.
Victor Okoro, head of delegation and team coordinator for Nigeria, expressed his pride in the team’s remarkable performances throughout the tournament.
“I’m very proud of this team. I am also happy that once again, they have made Nigeria proud on the international stage,” he stated after the game. Okoro, who also serves as a board member of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), emphasized that the team’s recent successes reflect the dedication and relentless efforts of the NBBF, led by Engr. Musa Kida. He acknowledged the federation’s commitment to fostering the development of basketball at all levels within Nigeria.
