‘Much-loved grandson’ named as driver who died in Largs crash
A 22-year-old man who died in a crash in North Ayrshire has been named by police.
Johnny Baxter, from Kilbirnie, was driving a silver Honda Civic on the A760 near Largs on Tuesday when the car crashed with a white Mercedes B class at about 17:10.
He was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger, another 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 63-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for assessment.
Mr Baxter’s family described him as a “much-loved son, brother and grandson” and said he would be missed “by everyone who knew him”.
Sgt Brian Simpson said inquiries continued to establish the full circumstances and urged anyone with information to contact the force by the non-emergency line.
