Meteor lights up night sky over parts of US and Canada

Residents across North America on Wednesday caught a glimpse of the moment a meteor passed by Earth, lighting up the night sky as it became a fireball.

Doorbell and security cameras captured the fiery spectacle over Alberta in Canada and Montana in the United States.

The American Meteor Society received at least 170 eyewitness reports of the falling star from both countries.
