Man Arriving Home After Curfew Tries Hiding From Doorbell Cam, Fails

Social media users have been trying to hold back their laughter at a viral video showing a man trying to hide from a Ring doorbell camera when he arrived home late.

The hilarious clip, shared on TikTok by Liv Buckley (@livbuckley123), shows the moment her brother crawled along the driveway in an attempt to avoid getting caught while past curfew. Unfortunately, his valiant efforts were all in vain because the Ring security cam captured everything, making for some very entertaining viewing later.

The caption layered over the footage explained that Buckley’s brother was “told to be back by 12,” but he could be seen returning home at 3:48 a.m. in a quite hilarious fashion.

Since the video was shared this past Sunday, it has delighted social media users, leading to more than 1.3 million views and over 184,900 likes. Needless to say, viewers can’t get enough of the brother’s unsuccessful attempt to sneak inside.

Many parents set curfews for their children to at least try to ensure they get home at a reasonable time—and if they don’t, they’ll sure know about it. A poll by YouGov in 2022 found that 75 percent of Americans were given a curfew by their parents, compared with 18 percent who didn’t.

While curfews are a good idea in principle, Buckley’s brother showed that they don’t always work out as planned. Although 44 percent of Americans said they never got home after curfew, 51 percent reported that they broke the rules at least sometimes. Among those rebellious folk, 38 percent said they sometimes broke their curfew, and 10 percent said they did so often. Just 3 percent of respondents said they would always ignore their curfew and get home late.

Upon seeing the Ring doorbell footage of her brother crawling across the driveway on his hands and knees in the middle of the night, Buckley lauded his efforts. She jokingly gave him a “10/10 for effort.”

How Did Social Media React?

The clip delighted many social media users who hailed the brother for trying his best to get inside unnoticed, albeit unsuccessfully.
