LeBron and Bronny made history on Tuesday night as the first father-son duo in NBA history to play together. The younger James checked into the game at the four-minute mark of the second quarter, and played a little more than two minutes in the Lakers’ season opener. He recorded one rebound while going 0-for-2 from the field.

As for the elder James, he began his 22nd season in the NBA with another solid performance, scoring 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. The Lakers got a big 110-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves to start their season 1-0 for the first time since 2016.

LeBron James was understandably grateful for the historic moment after the game.

“That moment, us being at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, something I will never forget,” LeBron said in a joint postgame news conference with Bronny. “No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory may fade as I get older or whatever, I will never forget that moment.”

James also posted a video on his Instagram with the caption, “With all my heart and soul !!! Will never forget that moment for the rest of my life.”

The Lakers continue their season on Friday night against the Phoenix Suns at the Crypto.com Arena. It remains to be seen if Bronny gets any more playing time moving forward.
