Jon Bon Jovi Shares His Opinion on Son Jake’s Marriage to Millie Bobby Brown
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Jon Bon Jovi is embracing a whirlwind of family milestones and a busy year as two of his sons, Jesse and Jake, are engaged and planning their weddings.
On the April 17 episode of This Morning, the rockstar revealed what’s in store for 2024, excitedly saying, “Two of my sons are getting married too! It’s a crazy year.”
In 2022, Jesse, 29, proposed to his girlfriend Jesse Light at their East Hampton home, an event witnessed by Jon himself. The following year, Jake, 21, proposed to actress Millie Bobby Brown after less than two years of dating.
Discussing Jake’s relationship with Brown, 20, Jon expressed his support in an April 13 interview with The Times, noting, “I’ve gotten to know her in the last year, she works really hard, and she and Jake will grow together in their own way.”
He added that his son’s union with the Stranger Things star had the full support of their families and drew parallels to his own experiences, “It is an accelerated version of what I went through 40 years ago and I think, with the support of family around them, they’re gonna be great together.”
In a March interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brown expressed her excitement and gratitude about planning her wedding, saying, “It’s been really exciting. I’m very, very blessed and very lucky.”
The Living On A Prayer singer revealed that he has a special gift for his daughter Stephanie, 30, who is also engaged and soon to be walking down the aisle. He revealed on the This Morning episode that he wrote a song titled “Kiss The Bride,” which he described as “quite moving”, and is inspired by his daughter, and he plans to perform at her wedding.
“I first wrote a song for her when she was five, now she’s 30 and getting married – you blink and these things happen.” he said, reflecting on the song.
Jon shares four children with his wife of 35 years, Dorothea Hurley: Stephanie, Jesse, Jake, and Romeo, 20.
