Israel Truck Attack: Everything We Know So Far
Dozens of people have been injured after a truck crashed into a bus stop in central Israel, according to the country’s emergency services.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency services received reports of a “truck hitting a bus stop” on the outskirts of the city of Ramat Hasharon, just north of Tel Aviv, shortly after 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. ET) on Sunday, the medical provider said in a statement.
“Dozens of casualties” were being treated for injuries on site, the Magen David Adom said.
Israeli police said a truck “hit a number of people who were standing near a bus stop” near a cinema between Glilot and Ramat Hasharon, with a “large police force” en route to the scene.
In a later statement, the police said the truck had hit the bus and the passengers who had arrived at a nearby military base. “Civilians who were present at the scene fired at the truck driver and neutralized him,” the police added.
