Is There Mail on Flag Day? Post Office, UPS, FedEx Hours
Flag Day, observed on June 14, honors the adoption of the American flag, but it isn’t a federal holiday, so mail will be running on its regular schedule Friday.
Flag Day was officially established by President Woodrow Wilson on May 30, 1916, to commemorate adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777. In 1949, President Harry Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14 of each year as National Flag Day, further solidifying its place in American culture and tradition.
However, it isn’t a federal holiday, so the U.S. government won’t be closed on Friday and governmental services will operate as normally.
