A devastating tornado that ripped through Iowa on Tuesday caused several reported deaths and left a trail of damage.

Videos of the incident show huge twisters tearing through the countryside, along with severe damage to buildings, especially in the town of Greenfield, located about 60 miles southwest of Des Moines.

Officials confirmed that several people had died in the severe weather. Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Alex Dinkla said on Tuesday night: “Sadly, we can confirm that there have been fatalities. We’re still counting at this time.”
