Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are an extremely long-lasting couple by Hollywood standards — they recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. But being a working actor means spending time apart, and the duo just showed Instagram followers how they keep things fresh when they have to be separated.

Bacon, 66, and Sedgwick, 59, both shared an Instagram reel of them doing a choreographed dance routine to “Disco” by the band Surf Curse.

“Being a thousand miles away doesn’t mean we can’t dance together,” the Footloose actor wrote in his caption. The actors shimmied and shook in a split screen video that made it appear as if they were dancing together.

Fans were quick to swoon over the couple’s adorable video. “Gives me hope for my long distance love going on 5 years! Y’all are adorable,” wrote one Instagram commenter. Several followers shared the same declaration: Bacon and Sedgwick are “couple goals.”

One observant fan called out the couple’s casual choice of footwear in the video, writing, “That’s a crocs family right there.” One fan summed up their sweet way of staying in touch beautifully: “Love everything about that. Apart… but 💯% present.”

Even a few celebs shared their love for Bacon and Sedgwick’s relationship. Dancing with the Stars host Julianne Hough wrote, “Love you two so much 😍❤️,” while director James Gunn commented with a heart emoji. (Gunn directed Bacon in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.)

Bacon and Sedgwick share two adult children, heavy metal musician Travis Bacon, 35, and Smile actress Sosie Bacon, 32. For their 36th anniversary on September 4, the couple posted a lovey-dovey video set to the Paramore song, “Still Into You.”

“I’m still (so) into you 🫶,” they captioned the montage, which featured several more dance moments from the couple.

The stars of The Closer and The Following will share the screen for the first time in 20 years in the film Connescence, which is currently in post-production.
