How Bayern Munich could line-up against Wolfsburg

Sitting second in the Bundesliga and with just two wins from their last five league games, Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich side are beginning to feel a bit of pressure.

On Wednesday night the Bavarian giants host an unbeaten Wolfsburg side in a game of the utmost importance to Flick. There’s very little wiggle room at the top of this season’s Bundesliga and anything but a win will be seen as losing more ground in the title race.

On top of that, the Bayern manager also has a number of injuries and knocks to content with ahead of the match.

In defence, Bayern are still without central defender Tanguy Nianzou due to a thigh strain and may feel obliged to rest left-back Alphonso Davies as he still returns to full fitness following an ankle injury.

Although, Flick has even bigger problems in midfield. Adding to an injury list that already includes Joshua Kimmich and Javi Martinez, it now seems as though Leon Goretzka may miss the midweek game through injury too.

That may leave Flick with no other option but to start Corentin Tolisso – who only returned from injury on Saturday in a late substitution – or 17-year-old Jamal Musiala, alongside Marc Roca in midfield.

Fortunately, the Bavarian side should have plenty of firepower in attack with a fully-stocked attacking line up in place. For such an important game, Flick will most likely go with his tried and tested pairing of Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry either side of Thomas Muller, with Robert Lewandowski up front.
