‘Help this man’ – Fans send message to Vincent Enyeama after he met one of his pioneer coaches
Former Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama reunited with one of his early coaches, Godwin Morgan (Citron), at the Uyo Township Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The meeting took place during a novelty football match held in honour of Enyeama’s late father, Phillip Enyeama.
A photo of the legendary Nigerian goalkeeper with his old-time coach, shared on Facebook by SPORTSRATION correspondent Nsikakabasi Akpan, has sparked a wave of reactions from fans. Many are urging Enyeama to assist Coach Morgan, who has dedicated years to nurturing talented footballers through his grassroots team, Maccito Academy.
Fans expressed their sentiments in the comments, highlighting the significant impact Coach Morgan has had on young athletes and calling for support from Vincent Enyeama.
“Vincent is a good man, but what help has he given to Macito? Make he leave laughing and help this man ’cause laugh no go put food for Macito table,” wrote Johnson Ukpong.
Ndifreke Bassey commented, “Vincent is a good man, I know he’ll put a smile on this man’s face. He’s a good coach; I do see him around Aka Road with young boys grooming them. Oluwa bless you, sir.”
Stephen Godwin added, “This man has groomed a lot of superstars. Sadly, they never return to reward him, and I don’t know the root cause.”
Sunny Jim echoed the sentiment, “He should help this man. This man has raised many of them, seems forgotten.”
Nsima Udo-idiong made an emotional appeal, “Please show him love .”
The reunion has underscored the critical role grassroots coaches like Godwin Morgan play in developing future football stars. Fans hope that this meeting will inspire Enyeama and other successful players to give back to the mentors who helped shape their careers.
