George Conway Slams ‘Vile’ Attacks on His Daughter

George Conway, the estranged husband of Donald Trump’s former adviser Kellyanne Conway, has lashed out at “vile” attacks on their daughter after she commented on the former president’s criminal conviction.

A frequent critic of Trump, Claudia Conway made a return to X, formerly Twitter, after a monthslong absence to weigh in on the presumptive GOP presidential nominee last week being found guilty on all 34 counts in his criminal hush money trial. After her mother praised Trump, calling him “resilient and a fighter,” Claudia Conway responded in a since-deleted post and wrote: “I think you forgot to add ‘felon.'”

Laura Loomer, a far-right conspiracy theorist and twice-failed GOP congressional candidate, lashed out at Claudia Conway in a series of X posts, accusing her of being a “low IQ, highly sexually promiscuous woman with daddy issues.” She also brought up Claudia Conway’s deal with Playboy.

Claudia Conway launched a subscription page on Playboy.com in April 2023 and has shared images of herself posing in bikinis. These are openly accessible on the page, while other snapshots require payments ranging from $5 to $99 to view.

Weeks after launching the page, the 19-year-old shared a statement on the matter and wrote on X that she was “aiming to reclaim my womanhood and femininity in a way that is truly mine.”

Responding to a video clip of Loomer saying she would go to jail for Trump, journalist Victoria Brownworth wrote on Saturday: “Laura Loomer, who has spent days tweeting nonstop about 18yr old Claudia Conway’s ‘p****,’ and saying incredibly gross things about her because that’s normal, wants to go to Rikers for Trump. Sounds like a good place for someone who sexually harasses young women.”

“Thank you for your support, Victoria,” George Conway responded on Sunday. “I don’t make personal requests on here often, if ever. But Laura Loomer (whom Trump apparently wanted to hire), along with an online mob of other Trump/MAGA supporters, have been attacking @claudiamcomwayy in the most vile of terms, simply because she noted that Donald Trump is a convicted felon.”

The lawyer, who is also a Trump critic, concluded by asking others to “help me report these vile people, and please let these vile people know what you think.”

“Thank you, Dad! Love you,” Claudia Conway wrote whose parents’ separation was announced in March 2023.

While Kellyanne Conway did not specify who she was directing her comments to, she hit out at “miserable people who live on X,” writing on Sunday: “Claudia is beautiful, brilliant, loved, supported & forms her own opinions. Those who attack her are jealous, soulless, vile and wrong. Get some fresh air & a life. Donald & Melania Trump have been unfailingly kind & generous to my children for a decade. To those trying to use my children to get DJT’s attention yet again, you failed yet again.”

Reacting to Kellyanne Conway’s post, Loomer wrote on X on Sunday, in part: “This is very obviously in reply to my tweets about your daughter Kellyanne. You should have just tagged me. So you’re admitting your daughter has no class and manners?”

Loomer added: “She literally tweeted that she has been praying for Donald Trump to ‘be arrested’ since she was 14. She is now 19. That’s not something to be proud of. And no, your daughter is not ‘brilliant.’ Brilliant women don’t sell sexual content online for $5 a month.”

Loomer also criticized George Conway, writing: “If only you could have spent more time being a Dad, and less time hating on Trump @gtconway3d… Maybe your daughter wouldn’t need to be selling sexual content online for $5 a month. Maybe you would still be married to @KellyannePolls. Some of us actually are loyal to Trump.”

Claudia Conway hit back at Loomer herself, stating: “There’s a reason I stay away from this cesspool of a platform. I acknowledged that both extremist sides of our political spectrum were problematic, yet only one side is attacking me in disgusting and defamatory ways. Pretty telling. @LauraLoomer, get a hobby. All love.”

Clarifying her views on sex work, Claudia Conway added on X: “BTW, I am NOT a s*x worker (never will be, never have been), but am not putting down those who choose that path—everyone is entitled to their own educated, open-minded opinions. But let’s not defame people or spin headlines to appease our own social media-driven agendas.”

Newsweek has contacted representatives of Claudia Conway, George Conway, Kellyanne Conway, and Loomer via email and website request forms for comment.

Last May, Claudia Conway spoke out about her decision to sign up with Playboy, which is now online only after the magazine ceased print publication in 2020.

She wrote on X at the time: “When I was 15-16, I was exploited by the media, preyed upon, and was forced into portraying myself as something I wasn’t. My body was taken from me. Now, as a young adult, I am aiming to reclaim my womanhood and femininity in a way that is truly mine. I am putting myself out there in a way that is MY OWN and no one else’s. I have full control of my body and my voice. I believe in writing your own narrative, like I’ve said in the past, and taking back what was once unjustly taken from you.”

She added in a follow-up post that “autonomy and freedom are two things everyone should have. Don’t let someone capitalize off of your vulnerabilities—reclaim them.”

An X user responded by writing that she was “owning the media who tried to turn you into a circus sideshow by turning yourself into a circus sideshow.” Claudia Conway replied: “And who owns the content, making money off of it, and has full control over what is out there now? Me.”

Weeks after her page was launched, a Playboy spokesperson told Newsweek in a statement that Claudia Conway’s involvement with the platform has afforded her “freedom” and “autonomy,” as well as “major financial success.”

“Playboy believes all women deserve to have full control over their bodies and their voices,” the statement read. “Claudia Conway is one of many women who have found freedom, autonomy, and major financial success on our creator platform. We welcome her and support her choices.”
