Fan-Favorite WWE Superstar Montez Ford Compares Bloodline To nWo

Montez Ford, one of World Wrestling Entertainment’s hottest superstars, has compared the Bloodline to nWo, one of the most iconic stables in pro wrestling history.

In a recent interview with the Daily Star, Ford discussed the Bloodline, the immensely popular WWE stable that currently includes Solo Sikoa, the Tongans (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa), and Jacob Fatu.

While the Bloodline is hugely popular at the moment, the Street Profits tag team member compared them to an even more legendary group, the nWo.

Ford said, “Same vibe. All these new variants, and [the Bloodline] wear red and black like the Wolfpac. The only difference is the name. Not a knock to the Bloodline, but such a strong force and they’ve created a strong element of surprise and so dominant.”

The New World Order (stylized as nWo) was a crucial part of World Championship Wrestling, the Ted Turner-owned promotion that threatened the dominance of the WWE in the 1990s.

Founded by “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash in 1996, the nWO epitomized the “edgy,” adult-oriented rebellious image of the WCW and eventually included numerous other wrestlers like Randy Savage, Sting, and Rey Mysterio.

Ford continued, comparing the Bloodline to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying, “It looks like the Avengers all over again. They got rid of Thanos, but Thanos is the same person they need to take care of the new threat. Bloodline is a huge threat, but now, another variant has formed, and that same Bloodline that caused the havoc, now has to take out the new havoc because this new variant is different and a little more rogue.”

The three-time tag team champion is referring to the numerous splinter groups that developed from the nWo as part of the years-long storyline, including the Wolfpac and the Outsiders. However chaotic the WCW group might have become, it seems that Ford still holds it in more esteem than the Bloodline.

He said, “The new Bloodline is getting strong because old Bloodline needs help taking out the new variant and people aren’t helping them…You’re asking me to help take care of this variant?…Weren’t ya’ll the same people that caused the havoc before? Make it make sense.”

The Bloodline is a crucial part of the WWE’s current success, with Roman Reigns’ “Tribal Chief” persona being a key part of numerous storylines. If there’s any existing group that might compare to the legendary nWo, it’s definitely the Bloodline, but that doesn’t make it any more stable.
