Europa League: Dessers Gears Up For ‘Tough’ Malmo Test
Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers is expecting a difficult duel against Swedish club Malmo.
The Scottish Premiership club will be up against Malmo in their opening UEFA Europa League clash on Thursday (today).
The Allsvenskan champions currently eight points clear at the top of the Swedish league, boast a strong record against Scottish clubs, with just one defeat in their last eight meetings dating back to 2011.
Dessers reckoned Malmo will be a tough nut to crack for Rangers, but insisted last weekend’s Scottish Cup 3-0 win over Dundee will boost his side’s morale.
‘Malmo away is not an easy start, but these are the games you want to play when you’re playing in Europe,” Dessers said ahead of the game.
“I think (the win over Dundee) can give us some confidence, a boost, and hopefully we can have a good performance there as well and hopefully win.’
