England Defeat Serbia In Group Opener


Jude Bellingham’s first half goal was enough to earn England a 1-0 win against Serbia in their Group C opener at the Euro 2024 on Sunday.

The win took England to top of the group which also have Denmark and Slovenia.

Bellingham gave England the lead in the 13th after nodding in Bukayo Saka’s cross.

It was a game the Three Lions did enough to earn all three points after edging possession by 53 per cent to Serbia’s 47, had three shots on target to one, and also had five counter attacks.

In the group’s other game Slovenia and Denmark settled for a 1-1 draw.

England, on three points, top the group, Denmark and Slovenia each has one point and are second and third respectively while Serbia are bottom.
