A drone is being used to search for a missing rhea, which disappeared from a garden in Lincolnshire.

Buzz escaped from her paddock in East Barkwith on Sunday afternoon.

Owner Tammy said she was “very worried about her”.

She left behind her partner Nelly, who is incubating a clutch of eggs.

Tammy said the flightless South American bird is about five feet (152cm) tall and was “very skittish and very timid”.

She added that something had spooked the family pet, who jumped over her paddock fence and ran off though an open garden gate.

“She is absolutely no danger to anybody and will probably just be wandering,” she said.

“They have no natural predators, but we are worried she might be scared and run into a car or fence.”
