Detectives name man who died after Troon flat disturbance
Detectives have named a man who died after a disturbance in a flat in Troon.
Callum Pollock, 22, was discovered in a property in Ramsay Court, in the town’s Scott Crescent, at about 23:40 on Saturday.
Police Scotland said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
James Thomson, 34, was charged with Mr Pollock’s murder when he appeared in private before Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday.
Mr Thomson, of East Ayrshire, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
Det Insp Keith Runcie said: “Our thoughts are with Callum’s family and everyone affected by his death.
“Our investigations are ongoing.”
He also issued an appeal to trace a couple who spoke to the suspect soon after the alarm was raised.
The man and woman were waiting on a train at Troon station around midnight on Saturday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact officers.
