Denmark’s prime minister Mette Frederiksen was assaulted in Copenhagen on Friday evening. The attack occurred in a square in the city’s old town.
According to eyewitnesses, a man rushed towards the prime minister, striking her before being subdued by security personnel. The assailant, whose identity has not yet been released, was swiftly apprehended by police.
