For many, becoming grandparents is a significant milestone—and often one that is eagerly anticipated for years.

One such couple has gone viral on TikTok after their daughter announced her pregnancy news.

The clip, which has been viewed 6 million times, begins with the mom-to-be posing with her parents and the photographer instructing them to say “grandparents.”

The expectant mother can’t contain her composure any longer while the soon-to-be grandmother is almost unable to believe the news.

Her reaction is immediate and priceless. At first, she says “no” repeatedly and turns to her daughter in confusion.

Seemingly all too much, the woman gets up from her chair and says “no, wait, no, wait,” meanwhile her husband takes a little longer for the news to sink in.

Still in shock and disbelief, she says to the couple, “don’t tease me,” welling up with tears.

After being reassured by the couple that this isn’t a joke, the woman finally embraces her daughter while the photographer captures a close-up of the moving moment.

The caption sums up the reaction to the pregnancy news perfectly: “Best reaction from my mom. She was SO happy and couldn’t believe it.”

The genuine and unscripted moment prompted thousands of TikTok users to comment on the woman’s reaction.

One TikTok user wrote: “By the time y’all see this comment, I know she’s bought 10 onesies, three toys and a blanky already. Congrats nana!”

“The sweetest reaction in the world!” one TikTok user commented.

Another user shared that becoming a grandparent is “the most beautiful thing to happen.”

@stephandmicah responded to some of the comments and said: “You can’t help but happy cry when watching this.”

Many noticed the expectant grandpa’s delayed reaction, with one saying: “I love how mothers always get it instantly while fathers are trying to decode,” and another joked: “Dad took two business days to process it.”

“Granddad is still loading,” one user said.

“Instead of the five stages of grief, she went through five stages of excitement,” one TikTok user said.

Many commented on how loved the new baby will be by the expectant grandmother, with one user who said: “That’s going to be one spoiled baby!”

As the video continues to gain views, the two grandparents have a special moment to look back on when the baby arrives.
