Atletico’s recent form has been mixed.

They came back from behind to defeat Leganes 3-1 this past weekend, but prior to that they drew two league matches in a row against Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.

Sandwiched in between those was the 4-0 demolition away at Benfica. On Matchday One of the Champions League, they beat RB Leipzig at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Atletico Madrid Injury News

Diego Simeone will be without Robin Le Normand, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Llorente, though Thomas Lemar is getting close to match fitness after recovering from a long-term Achilles problem. The Frenchman has been involved in squads recently but the club are being careful with his return.

Lille Recent Form

After a shocking run of four defeats in a row between 28 August and 17 September, Lille embarked on a run of five games without defeat.

Jonathan David scored from the penalty spot to earn that narrow victory a few weeks ago.

Lille – Player To Watch

Jonathan David scored the goal to seal one of the most famous wins in Lille’s history against Real Madrid and he has five further goals to his name in Ligue 1 so remains his side’s best attacking threat.

Atletico Madrid vs Lille – Prediction

Atletico are particularly strong at home and although Lille will be buoyed by the win against Los Blancos, Carlo Ancelotti’s men were very poor on the night. The hosts on Wednesday will have enough in the final third to win this one.
