The Englishwoman sustained an injury that unfortunately forced her to abruptly withdraw from the Aramco Team Series after playing just six holes.

The injury and withdrawal have come at a very crucial time in the golfing calendar year, as the next women’s major championship, the Amundi Evian Championship, is also just around the corner. It is set to commence on July 11 at the Evian-les-Bains greens.

Charley Hull took to her Instagram story to address her withdrawal from the Ladies European Tour-sanctioned event and shed light on the details of her injury. According to her story, Hull has been dealing with the injury for the past few days. Considering the state of the injury, Hull was recommended not to continue playing at the moment.“Today I had to withdraw from @aramcoteamseries London following medical advice, due to ongoing shoulder pain in my right shoulder following a nasty fall on Sunday night.”

Earlier this year, Charley Hull performed really well in the first two phases of the Aramaco Championship. In the first phase at Tampa, she not only finished individually at 2 but also her team finished at T2. In the second phase, in South Korea, Captain Hull again showed her skill with an individual finish at 2 and the team finish at T3. In the third phase of the event, she had the chance to showcase her skills in her home country, but the injury brought an abrupt end to her scintillating campaign.

The English pro further expressed her disappointment in her story, sharing her feelings about missing out on playing at the London greens: “I’m so disappointed as I always love playing in this series, particularly in front of the home crowd.”

Knowing her home country fans must have visited to see her swinging on the greens, the world number eight went on with her message and further addressed the abrupt withdrawal: “Sorry to the fans who came out to watch, my playing partners for leaving you after 6 holes and to all those behind the scenes who work tirelessly to make these events run.”

This isn’t the first time injuries have sidelined the 28-year-old English star. A recurring foe, Charley Hull is no stranger to these frustrating setbacks that have forced withdrawals on multiple occasions throughout her career.

At this year’s Ford Championship, Charley Hull finished the first round at par 72. It was evident that the Englishwoman was struggling with something. However, the next day, Hull took charge on the front 9 by scoring 3 birdies at the first, second, and fourth holes. Unfortunately, her time at the Seville G&CC was cut short when she abruptly withdrew after completing the front 9. A tweet from LPGA Media on its official handle cited an undisclosed illness as the reason for her withdrawal.

Last year, ahead of the Solheim Cup, Hull reported a neck sprain that caused concern for the European team. However, it didn’t lead her to withdraw and she even assured her fans that it was not a significant issue and that she would recover with time, “Yeah, I sprained it [the neck]. It feels a bit sore… I only played nine holes today but should be good by Friday. I’m swinging it at like 80% at the moment, but I’m swinging it good considering.”

Moreover, in May of the same year, the Englishwoman withdrew from the Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown, citing an illness. The English team faced a major setback as Georgia Hall also withdrew at the last minute. Even her 2024 return was marked as a return from her several illnesses.
