While everyone jumped up and down in celebration as the confetti dropped on Friday night at Araneta Coliseum, Oftana was just overcome with emotion.

“This is my second but every championship is special. This one, though, I’ve been so emotional because there were lots of circumstances that happened in the team, inside and outside of the court,” Oftana told Inquirer Sports in Filipino.

“It’s also special because my son got to enjoy watching me play. I got emotional because getting this one wasn’t easy. There were runs where I doubted myself.”
Oftana didn’t have a spectacular performance but he did just enough to help Tropang Giga in their title-clinching win with eight points, four rebounds and three assists.
