Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever Bobblehead is Going Viral For All the Wrong Reasons

Caitlin Clark officially kicked off her professional career on Tuesday night.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft made her debut with the Indiana Fever in a 92-71 loss to the Connecticut Sun. Clark led the Fever with 20 points on 5-of-15 shooting from the field with 10 turnovers. She also shot 4-of-11 from deep.

While Clark’s debut didn’t go exactly how she would have liked, it was just the first game of many for the most exciting prospect in WNBA history.

Clark’s presence is almost single-handedly changing the sport. This year, the league has finally started chartering flights — and for the teams that fly commercial, there will be security on planes.

Clark’s arrival has also led to a major increase in popularity in the sport. Clark’s jersey sold in record numbers on Fanatics, while opposing teams have moved their scheduled home games against the Fever to larger arenas to allow for more fans to buy tickets.

Clark’s Tuesday night debut even made television history as the first live sporting event ever on the streaming platform Disney+.

All this is to say that Clark has not only become a WNBA or basketball star, but she’s became a national sensation — so much so that she even has her own bobblehead.

The company “FOCO” has released four Clark bobbleheads for sale on its website. While one (a bobblehead depicting her getting drafted) has sold out, the other three are available for preorder. There’s one of her in an Iowa Hawkeyes uniform, one of her in a Fever road jersey, and a new one set to depict her debut. Unfortunately, one of them has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

On the social media platform X on Tuesday, the account TwinsJake posted a photo of the away jersey bobblehead with the caption “Got my Caitlin Clark Bobbleheads!”

In less than 24 hours, that post has already gotten more than 7.5 million views.

Why is the bobblehead going viral? Well, it doesn’t exactly look like the famed basketball star. More than 1,000 people have “quoted” the post, and many of them think it looks like other athletes — mostly men.

While this bobblehead might not exactly look like Clark, it’s amazing to see a WNBA star even getting this level of recognition in the sports world. Clark has also done so much for the WNBA in a short amount of time, and should only increase the popularity as the season goes on.

Hopefully her three-dimensional likenesses improve too.
