Bryce James’ Nike Title Quest Gets Mom Savannah Fired Up After Dominant 1st Outing

Hype and media attention have always surrounded Bryce James because of his association with NBA superstar father, LeBron James. Therefore, it comes as no surprise when multiple media houses covered his EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League) debut. Bryce’s team, Strive For Greatness, got off to an impressive start after they defeated Why Not by 11 points.

Like her support for LeBron James in the NBA, Savannah James instantly congratulated Bryce and his teammates on their remarkable win. She took to her official Instagram account to share a short video of Strive for Greatness’ first game of the EYBL season and captioned it with “Let’s go SFG!!!” Several rocket emojis accompanied Savannah’s caption.

Apart from Bryce James, there are other highly touted players hooping in this season’s EYBL. Five-star recruits like AJ Dybantsa, Cameron and Cayden Boozer (twin sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer), and Kiyan Anthony (son of 10x NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony) have all showcased their talents in the opening game of this season’s EYBL.

Bryce James would use the EYBL to prepare for his junior year of high school basketball. Bryce has had a rough 2023-24 season, as he switched several schools. He started the season with Notre Dame Sherman Oaks. However, Bryce couldn’t register any game time because he wasn’t eligible to play for them till 21st December. But instead of waiting to play for Notre Dame, he chose to go back to Sierra Canyon and finish his sophomore season there. The change of scenery didn’t really have an impact, as Bryce James still found it challenging to get regular playing minutes.

Bryce James’ collegiate prospects

Despite having an underwhelming sophomore season, Bryce James isn’t short of college offers. Whether you like it or not, he remains one of the most hyped-up collegiate prospects. Multiple D1 universities like Ohio State and Duquesne have already offered Bryce a scholarship. They have decided to take a punt on Bryce’s incredible upside in spite of his poor recent showings.

However, James hasn’t revealed his collegiate destination till now. While the Ohio State Buckeyes enjoy greater prominence, the Duquesne Dukes have familial ties with the James family. LeBron James’ high school teammate Dru Joyce is the current head coach of the Duquesne Dukes. LeBron even congratulated Joyce when the news broke out via his X account. He wrote, “I’m proud to announce! As the unquestioned source I am confirming that Dru Joyce is the new HC at Duquesne University and is meeting with the team right now! So damn happy and proud of you my brother!!!”

Despite speculations about his collegiate future running rife, the sixteen-year-old has stayed committed to honing his game. He’s constantly up against some of the best high school prospects. And after a subpar sophomore season, Bryce would be highly motivated to take his game to the next level.
