Brilliant Berghuis scores a Perfect 10 for Feyenoord
Steven Berghuis was absolutely magnificent for Feyenoord in their 4-3 away win versus Zwolle, scoring two goals and assisting another.
His assist was for Feyenoord’s first goal, which came at a vital time as the visitors were struggling to get back into the game while two goals behind. He collects possession on the right wing and cuts inside on his cultured left foot before whipping a precise cross to the back post for Leroy Fer to smuggle a finish over the line.
Thereafter, he took the game by the scruff of the neck and scored two of his own.
At first glance, his first looks like a screamer looped over the goalkeeper from 30 yards, but it does seem like a deflection just gave his strike enough air to evade the Michael Zetterer on the line.
There were no doubts about his second, though, as he once again scored with his left with a superb, lashed finish in off the right-hand post from the edge of the area.
Creatively he was superb, too, sending 11 crosses into the box and 44 passes into the final third, both of which were more than anyone in this round of Eredivisie fixtures.
