Bellotti vs. Gomez Jr bout called off
REECE Bellotti’s British and Commonwealth super-featherweight title fight against Michael Gomez Jr has been called off following British Boxing Board of Control safety concerns around the challenger’s ability to compete. As the tweet below explains, Gomez Jr was taken ill in the changing rooms and a doctor’s inspection ruled him out.

Bellotti had been all set to defend the titles he picked up, first from Aqib Fiaz and later Liam Dillon. Bellotti made a successful defence in July, beating Levi Giles over 12 rounds. Unfortunately for the Watford ‘Bomber’, it was not to be on this occasion. Campbell Hatton’s clash with Jimmy Flint and the Jack Catterall versus Regis Prograis headliner will proceed as planned, with the former being elevated to chief support status.
