Abdul Maikaba suspended by Kano Pillars, Interim coaches named
Kano Pillars FC have suspended its technical adviser, Abdul Maikaba with new interim coaches appointed to lead the team until the end of the current season.
The suspension is coming days after the former Enugu Rangers gaffer stated that he had not had a proper working environment since taking over at the beginning of the current season.
“I need a conducive environment to work. The current environment is not conducive in Kano. I’m discussing with the management in days. If it warrants terminating the contract, I will do that,” Maikaba stated.
Jangora Ahmed and Ahmed Yaro Yaro Garba have been appointed to manage Kano Pillars for the remainder of the Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Their appointment follows the suspension of head coach Abdullahi Maikaba, which was announced by the club’s management on Tuesday, May 7.
Maikaba’s suspension came after he publicly criticized the club’s management for what he perceived as a lack of professionalism. In response, the club decided to bring in new caretaker coaches to lead the team.
Both Ahmed and Yaro Yaro have a history with Kano Pillars, having previously played for the team. Their experience and familiarity with the club make them suitable candidates to take charge during this period.
Kano Pillars currently have 44 points from 32 games in the ongoing campaign. With the appointment of Ahmed and Yaro Yaro, the club will be looking to maintain their form and finish the season on a high note.
