Aaron Rodgers Sends Message to Any New York Fans Doubting Him

The New York Jets will enter the 2024 season ready to show the rest of the league what they could have been last season. Just a few plays into their 2023 year, quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a major injury and was ruled out for the rest of the season. He was diagnosed with a torn Achilles and has spent everyday since rehabbing to get ready for the new season.

With Rodgers back in the mix, the Jets should be much more competitive this season. They have plenty of supporting offensive weapons for him to throw the ball too, making them one of the scariest teams in the NFL. However, there are those who question the decision to keep offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett around. But Rodgers had a message for any New York fans who want to doubt him.

“You should trust me and I trust Nathaniel,” Rodgers said of what he would tell Jets fans. “So, to me, that’s end of story. There’s been a lot of BS that’s been said out there. There’s a lot of things that have gone on the last couple years that he’s dealt with that I think he’s handled very professionally. And at the end of the day, I think you gotta trust his and my working relationship and the conversations that we have.”

Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL and he believes in Hackett. Even with his injury, the veteran hasn’t lost his confidence about his ability to win football games.

“I’m always confident, you know me, I feel like if I’m on the field and doing what I’m capable of doing, No. 1, we’ve always got a chance,” Rodgers said this week on Adam Schein’s SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio. “And No. 2, more than that, we’re one of those, you know, half dozen to 10 teams that can actually win a championship this year. So that’s what’s exciting.”

The window for the Jets is extremely small, given that Rodgers is 40 years old and coming off a major injury. However, the organization believes he is the right person to lead them forward for the next bit of time.

New York will be competing in a very tough AFC Conference, especially with the AFC East. They will need to get out to a good start if they want to keep pace with the other teams but with Rodgers healthy, the Jets may finally have a chance to be relevant for the first time in a while.
