Aussies blaze past Namibia to confirm Super Eight spot
Adam Zampa starred for the Aussies, taking 4 wickets to become the first Australian cricketer to reach 100-wicket milestone in T20Is.
Australia on Wednesday produced a clinical performance against Namibia to confirm their spot in the Super Eight. Mitchell Marsh and his team beat Namibia by 9 wickets in a one-sided tie at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua & Barbuda. The Aussies chose to bowl after winning the toss. Led by Adam Zampa’s 4-wicket haul, the ODI WC champions bowled the Namibian side out for 72 runs in their third T20 World Cup group stage game. Chasing 73, the Aussies reached the target in just under 6 overs courtesy of some wonderful power-hitting by David Warner, Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh himself.
